Hey there, I’m Ines.
So, anyway, who’s on this side of the screen?
My name is Ines and I’m a freelance content writer, creator, and solopreneur.
But let’s rewind a little bit.
Since my early teens, I dreamed of being location-independent and traveling the world while being financially secure — I even started a couple of blogs at the time.
Obviously, I had no idea of what I was doing and was totally and utterly unsuccessful.
My teenage-self accepted that online business wasn’t for me and I ended up going to university and becoming an engineer.
Fast-forward to 2020, I was working as a researcher in the Czech Republic and dreading work every single day.
Seriously, that tiny, windowless lab was my personal hell.
As we all know, by March 2020, little miss ‘rona came knocking and put the world on pause.
At first, I was just happy to get some time off work.
But once I realized the lockdown would last a while, I decided I didn’t want to look back at that time and think “I wasted months of my life.”
The plan was to make money online during lockdown so that I could take a year off to travel and live my nomadic dreams.
To my surprise, I made $800 in the first month (after spending the first two weeks frantically researching everything I needed to learn, that is).
That was enough to convince me I could turn this into a full-time career and actually make my wildest dreams come true.
I had ZERO experience but still made it work.
So, how has life been since I started freelancing full-time?
In the summer of 2020, I traveled to five countries in three weeks while working. Then, I settled in Guimarães, Portugal, for a while and traveled around the country whenever I could take short breaks from work.
In November 2020, I spent two weeks in Germany — also, while working. That winter, I worked really hard to make and save money and ended up taking two months off to backpack Portugal and Spain during the summer of 2021.
Towards the end of 2021, I decided to come back to my hometown to make up for lost time with my family.
And that has been the real treasure freelance writing gave me.
My parents work so hard. Being able to help them means the world to me.
I also felt like I didn’t get to see my younger sister grow up. Now, I get to spend as much time as I want with her. We go to the movies, to the beach, and chat over drinks for hours on end.
All this to say: freelance writing has brought me the freedom and joy I always craved in life.
And that’s why I created this website. I want to give back.
I want to help at least 1,000 change their lives like I changed mine.
